The food (kaiseki) was delicious and plentiful, as were the breakfasts. The area is very calm and makes a nice break after a few hectic days in Tokyo.

this hotel was set in a remote area really close to the bus station, the river on the kawadoko and public transport.

Beautifully decorated units with toiletries, nostalgic atmosphere, as for instance, and the staff were EXCEPTIONALLY KIND. The location was beautiful for exploring this tranquil area, really close to a river, the nearest convenience store, and the waterfalls.

Overall it is a stunningly beautiful hotel and we enjoyed the stay, the location was exceptionally nice in a quiet area. The room is beautifully decorated and absolutely perfect with a Japanese decor. There is a wide range of outstanding food for breakfast.

My room included climate control, an individual safe and flat-screen television. The location was exceptionally nice, to Shuzenji bus station, the view was SUPERB, too.

Revitalizing stay by the riverside

My partner and I experienced it all-an outdoor onsen under a starlit sky, local delicacies prepared to perfection, and the serenity of nature right at our doorstep. We felt rejuvenated.

While the journey to Tatsuta was an adventure, it also proved time-consuming. We had to navigate several transit schedules, which required some extra planning, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area.

The kaiseki dinner was an epic culinary adventure-with a good array of vegetarian dishes that were bursting with flavor! Waking up to a traditional breakfast by the river was pure magic, and the private onsen experience reminded me of heaven on earth.

Getting to Tatsuta Ryokan can be a bit of a trek-navigating those train and bus schedules might leave you scratching your head. Plus, the winding road can be slippery, especially if it rains. But once you're there, every detail shines bright.

Our stay was primarily for relaxation, and it delivered. The private open-air bath with a river view was a highlight for us, offering a stunning way to unwind. We also delighted in the generous onsen options outside, and the serene setting made our mornings nice-especially enjoying breakfast by the riverside under a kotatsu, which was so cozy. It was a rejuvenating experience.

This so-called ryokan was a joke, the outdoor dining was swarming with bees, very pleasant, right? And the staff couldn't even provide proper english at check-in, shocking. I almost wrote a great review but after the way they treated me, expecting a welcome gift or something! Just unacceptable!

Absolutely loved our room with a balcony right next to the stream. The private open-air bath was heavenly. Amenities were spot on-yukata, air conditioning, tv, and a great setup with a refrigerator. The dining experience by the river was really good, with a 10-course meal!

It was just a decent option for a brief sojourn in Izu (Shizuoka) with good value for money. The hot spring baths were almost all to myself , a great surprise. Make sure to check the local train and bus schedules ahead of time for a smoother arrival.
